Lisa Morrow

Textbook (Title and ISBN): Pearson, "Tennessee Middle School Interactive Science", 9789328959068
Materials needed:(Many of these are also used for other classes)
Pencils
Colored pencils
Highlighter
Notebook paper
Three ring binder with subject dividers-can be used for other classes also
Zip pouch to store pencils, highlighter, etc.
$8.00 donation for science labs
Grading Procedure (Daily, Test, Quiz):
-Daily work -which includes daily review quizzes- will count 45% of the Nine Weeks Grade
The first three nine weeks I drop the students' lowest two quiz grades
-Test will count 55% of the Nine Weeks Grade
Study Island is considered as a test grade during each nine weeks. Students will have the opportunity to work on Study Island in class during the week at various times. Students will have all log in information and simply use the following link:
http://www.studyisland.com/login
There will be a science assignment that I will update weekly with new topics for them to continually work on. There are great explanations for students if a question is missed. There are fun activities associated with each of the lessons further engaging learning.
At the end of the year we will have a Seventh Grade Honors Program. Guidelines are as follows:
-All A's and B's for all four nine weeks with no C's, D's, or F's in all academic areas.
Attendance/Make-Up Work Policy:
All students should make every effort to be at school. Your presence is very important.
We do many science activities and labs as a class so being there is so beneficial and
necessary to learning. Attendance is truly the major key to success. If a student is absent, it is the responsibility of the student to check for missed assignments. I will place all make up work in student pick up slots. Make up work should be turned in as soon as possible. After the allowed time, it will be considered late. (Minus 30 points) Also, if it is necessary to help improve the students' grade "MIA" or Silent Lunch may be assigned to help students' make up work when absent. This is not a punishment but a way to complete assignments when student is absent many times. Tests will be made up during Silent Lunch or MIA after school. Again, this is not a punishment, but a way for students to make up tests when absent.
