Grading Procedure (Daily, Test, Quiz):
25% Daily Grades
25% Classwork
50% Tests

Major Assignments/Test(s)/Fieldtrips (if applicable):
Daily grades will be taken on beginning work, interactive journals, and lab activities. Classwork over daily instruction will be completed by students in class and submitted for a grade. If students fail to finish classwork, they may take the assignment home to complete or choose to complete the assignment during the lab activity related to the assignment. Students have the opportunity to make corrections on any classwork assignments to improve their grades. Each Wednesday students will take a test over the previous week's topic. Students should use their interactive journals to prepare for their weekly test.

Attendance/Make-Up Work Policy:
If a student is absent from class, all makeup work will be placed in the student's class folder. When the student returns to class, it is their responsibility to secure their make up work from their folder and complete it in a timely manner in accordance with the Student Handbook.

Grading Procedure (Daily, Test, Quiz):
Students will be graded using daily grades, tests, group work, group participation, individual participation, and weekly AR Comprehension grades. The breakdown will be as follows:
25% Reading Informational Texts
25% Reading Literature
25% Grammar and Language
25% Speaking, Listening, and Writing

Major Assignments/Test(s)/Fieldtrips (if applicable):
Students will be reading the novels throughout the year. The students will also be keeping an Interactive Journal for their reading and language. Students will also utilize a Writing Journal for their Write Bright writing.

Attendance/Make-Up Work Policy:
If a student is absent, it is their responsibility to come to me for their missed work. The students will have one week, from the time that he/she has missed, to turn in work.

25% Daily Grades
● 25% Classwork
● 50% Quiz/Test
● Projects will be graded depending on topic

Major Assignments/Test(s)/Fieldtrips (if applicable):
Daily grades will be taken on beginning work, folder work, primary
and secondary documents, and other activities depending on topic.
Classwork over daily instruction will be completed by students in
class and submitted for a grade. If students fail to complete
classwork, they may take the assignment home to complete and return
next day. Students have the choice ​to make corrections on any
classwork assignments only​ to improve their grades. Students
should use their folder work to prepare for their weekly test.

Attendance/Make-Up Work Policy:
If student is absent from class, all makeup work will be placed in our
class makeup box with their name on it. When the student returns to
class it's their responsibility to ask me for their makeup work so I can
go over it with them. All makeup work should be completed in a
timely manner in accordance with the Student Handbook.
